If you put a flame in a microwave and turn it on, it causes a bizzare plasma reaction. Stick a match in a cork, light it, put it in the microwave, stick a glass drinking cup on top of that, and the plasma will be contained in the cup. You can find several videos on YouTube, just search for ‘microwave plasma’. I found an experiment that I could perform where I heated up some glass with a blowtorch and microwaved it. The glowing spot grew and melted a hole in the glass. I thought I may be able to make some kind of glass-sculpture. Check it out….
