I finished building the first prototype/version of the circuit-bent karaoke delay machine. The bends on this childs karaoke machine were so versatile that I decided to design to be an easily played insturment to be used during music shows. This first version has 3 1/8″ inputs, one which bypasses the echo bends. There’s an optional tape deck which can be plugged in and played in the background. It has a body contact, output w/ volume control, and power jck w/ switch.
This is a work in progress. The Child’s Karaoke Machine is definitely one of the coolest sounding circuit bent pieces i’ve ever encountered. It has an optional echo-effect that adds so much depth to the sound, characterized with its endless loops. The completed unit will contain 6 loop-bends, 1 Body Contact, two 1/8″ jack inputs with Mic, 1/4″ jack Output, Optional Detachable Tape Deck, and optional power jack for AC adapter.
If you put a flame in a microwave and turn it on, it causes a bizzare plasma reaction. Stick a match in a cork, light it, put it in the microwave, stick a glass drinking cup on top of that, and the plasma will be contained in the cup. You can find several videos on YouTube, just search for ‘microwave plasma’. I found an experiment that I could perform where I heated up some glass with a blowtorch and microwaved it. The glowing spot grew and melted a hole in the glass. I thought I may be able to make some kind of glass-sculpture. Check it out….
