I’ve been messing around with slide projections and photography… here’s a few examples of what me and Eric took….
I picked up an old circuit bent piece I did a while back, and decided to house it inside a wooden box I had lying around. There was one connection or “bend” that I found particularily interesting, and so I decided to create it with just one extra button to activate that bend. I also kept the letters ABCD and an LED to make it more appealing. I placed the speaker on the underside of the box, thinking that it would resonate through whatever surface it was sitting on to make it sound louder. It doesn’t have the volume that I wanted it to, and I think that it may be related to the fact that the wood is very soft and light. Maybe if I add some more weight or add rubber feet to the bottom, it may help amplify it a bit. When the bend is activated, it tends to create a distorted loop which plays infinitely until I press another button.
For the Art Outside 2008 Event, I created a transportable/wearable display unit to encase the TV-B-Gone Remotes. The display is contained inside of a briefcase so I can close it up and take it with me anywhere I go. It was great to use at the event, the signs definitely caught peoples attention, and it was lots of fun to promote.
